Access real time information relating to the tasks

Maintenance workers need to be able to access real time information relating to the tasks that they need to perform. When they are out on the job, they often struggle with gaining access to the information they require and maintaining contact both with headquarters and with their fellow workers.

Through the deployment of the Appear IQ platform, maintenance workers in subway stations, on board trains, on buses, and even in airports can communicate seamlessly with one another and with their task masters. Using their handheld devices, they can receive instant updates regarding a problem in the system which are sent to the worker closest to the fault. Once on site, they can asses the problem through direct access to the maintenance history of the piece of equipment and send requests for assistance or spare parts to the warehouse, as well as leave a “tag” for the help when it arrives. When they are back in the warehouse, the device assists them instantly by alerting them to the location and availability of the spare part they need.
