Your Key Responsibilities
The candidate will work closely with the Product Owner to translate complex functional and technical requirements from a product road map to drive the vision and development of the product architecture. The candidate will be required to define and maintain a robust, scalable, standards driven, adaptable architecture that can change in synchronization to ever changing business needs. The candidate will be an active member of the development team of 6 to 10 developers focusing on the design and implementation of new features and enhancements through the complete software development life-cycle from design, implementation, testing and product delivery.
Your Key Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years experience of software development and software architecture
- Comprehensive understanding of application and systems engineering
- Experience working with agile development methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Ability to see how parts interact as a whole (big picture thinking)
- Comprehensive understanding of application and systems engineering
- Extensive experience in Java (Java EE) server-side technologiesbasic knowledge in Java and JSP
- Strong knowledge of challenges when working with distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies
- Strong knowledge of web related technologies
- Understanding of various database solutions (RDBMS, XML, graph)
- Understanding of service orientated architecture and cloud computing principles
- Understanding of mobile platforms, in particular Windows Mobile
- Openness to explore and develop on multiple platforms including .NET, Android and others
- Openness to explore alternative languages like Scala, Clojure, Ruby or Groovy
- Solid problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Willingness to engage in team learning and process improvement
- Advanced oral and written communication skills in English
