Stockholm, May 9, 2006 – Appear Networks has opened an office in Utrecht, the Netherlands, as part of its growing commitment to the European market.

 

The Dutch office will support, among others, the deployment of Appear IQ to 10,000 mobile frontliners at Dutch Rail. The introduction of Appear IQ by Dutch Rail has generated an efficiency gain of 25 minutes per employee, saving an estimated 8 million euros per year. It is the largest known deployment of Wi-Fi enabled frontline applications in Europe to date.

 

Two key employees joining the Dutch office are Wim Peggeman, Country Manager and Harm Jonker, Senior Systems Engineer.

 

Mr. Peggeman joins Appear from Capgemini, where he was a Project Manager responsible for several large scale projects including the deployment of the Appear IQ solution for Dutch Rail.

 Mr. Jonker joins Appear from EDS, where he worked as a Systems Engineer for almost 10 years. There he was responsible for the implementation of IT solutions within travel and transportation and the public sector.
