
Appear Networks Receives Honorable Mention at the JBoss Innovation Awards
High Profile Mobile Deployment with Dutch Rail Recognized as Industry Leading Solution
Stockholm, April 27, 2006 –JBoss®, Inc., the Professional Open Source company, announced on Monday the winners of the inaugural JBoss Innovation Awards. Appear Networks was selected for an honorable mention in the category Return on Investment for the deployment of a mobile workforce solution to 10,000 users in 50 train stations across the Netherlands, based on the Appear IQ wireless communication platform.
The deployment of Appear IQ, the largest known deployment of Wi-Fi enabled frontline applications to date, has generated an efficiency gain of 25 minutes per employee, per shift, saving an estimated 8 million Euros per year.
Winners of the JBoss Innovation Awards were selected in 11 categories based upon their use of the JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite (JEMS™) to improve business processes, overcome technology challenges, and improve their customer’s bottom lines. Competition was stiff, with over 80 nominations submitted from users, customers and partners from around the world.
The winners will be recognized at a ceremony during the JBoss World 2006 in Las Vegas on June 15th.
