Your Challenge

A new incident has occurred. Your field agents need to instantly access information about it. They rely on their phones or radios to receive information about the situation, having to manually input their incident reports at the end of the day. Some may have a first generation mobile data solution consisting of an in-vehicle PC. Others have simple mobile devices on which they can access text-based alerts. They all lack the complete situation awareness required to take the right course of action when operating in the field, outside of the vehicle. In order to resolve this, you want to develop a comprehensive mobile tool for sending and receiving rich media information.

A Real-life Example

An emergency service organization would like to provide mobile data tools to its field force. Their personnel are currently using Logica’s MERLOT Command & Control system and wish to deploy a mobile extension. One critical requirement is to be able to create the most adequate emergency response team based on its location, skillset and availability. Another important requirement is to be able to push a security video-feed to a specific agent, based on his location. This requires a precise understanding of the user’s.

Security respondents will often use a combination of TETRA/P25 radios (for mission critical voice applications) and rugged or semi-rugged Wi-Fi/3G handheld devices to access rich media data applicatons.

The AppearIQ MEAP platform provides the integration layer that connects the front-end applications to your back-end systems.

The AppearIQ B2E Apps are based on standard building blocks and tailored to your exact needs. Examples include alerts, dispatch, incident tracking, incident  reporting, video-feeds, building sensors and positioning.
