Appear Networks
releases APS 4.6 with multiple
positioning system support and server-side API
With APS 4.6, a single APS
proxy can be interfaced to several positioning systems that are used
in parallel. For example, a user entering a zone with a wireless
device will connect to the best available positioning system, based
on Wi-Fi signal strength, GPS or Cell-ID. As a complement to the
client side positioning API there is now a server side positioning
API for third party applications that need access to the positioning
information in the APS. The new server side API provides the
information in XML, over HTTP or UDP.
